James Byron Dean was born in Marion, Indiana (USA) and his family moved to California. In secundary school, he was awesome playing basketball and baseball but he was not the good actor that he become. At 18 he traveled to Los Angeles where she studied at the University of California (UCLA). In December 1947 he began to get small roles in film and television, also became a famous Pepsi spot and soon he moved to New York to study acting at the famed Actor's Studio.

The young actor jumped to a incandescent fame since his first film "East of Eden" 1954, filmed by Elia Kazan.
